1 Eligibility of competitors
Entries to the village show are restricted to all those who live, or go to school or church, or have family living in Swavesey or have an allotment in Swavesey. To make a good show residents are encouraged to enter exhibits whether they expect to reach the winning standard or not. Have a go!
2 Entries must be made on the official entry form and delivered to:
Colin Start, 120 Middle Watch, (tel: 230559), or
Anja Wehrum, 31 High St, (tel 231137) by Friday 29th June.
Entry fee: Adults £1 per entry (up to a maximum of £5 for 5 or more entries). Any number of entries can be made (maximum of 3 in any one class).
Children 50p per entry (up to a maximum of £2.50)
All exhibits must:
be the property of the exhibitor.
have been produced by the exhibitor.
have been grown by the exhibitor.
All exhibitors must supply their own plates, trays, dishes, bowls, baskets and vases.
3 On the Day
Exhibits may be brought to the show between 8.00am and 10.00am on the day (judging will commence at 10.30am).
Each exhibitor will be allocated a number to be displayed on each exhibit. Only the names of prize winners will be divulged.
No exhibit shall be removed from the marquee before 4.30pm except with the permission of the Show Secretary. All exhibits must be removed by 5.30pm.
All persons except the appointed stewards must leave the marquee during the judging unless their presence is required in an official capacity.
The judges’ decisions will be final.
5 The Show Subcommittee
Whilst every reasonable care will be taken, the show subcommittee will not be responsible for loss or damage to exhibits.
A certificate and rosette will be awarded to the winner of each class and a certificate to the second and third placed entrant.
7 Special awards
At the judges’ discretion highly commended certificates may be awarded.
